3 months old

Guess how big I am now?
I am now 3 months old. I had a really busy last month. During my third month I had my first BIG holiday. It was Thanksgiving. This year for Thanksgiving I went to Georgia with Mommy and Daddy. Mommy's side of the family lives there. I did really well on the 10 hour trip up there. Once there, I got to meet tons of new family members... Nana, Uncle Matt, Luke, Papaw, Aunt Donna, Aunt Karen, Uncle Randy, Meme, Carey, Richie, and Trae (he's my size). I was so cute and everyone loved me! I love them too!

I also started school this month. I miss Edna so much but was excited to start with Mommy at her work. Here are some pictures of me getting ready for my big FIRST day of the babies class at Keswick Christian School. One is me in the bath and the other is Daddy feeding me ice cream before bed. :) Hope I wasn't to hyper for my new teachers!

Here are two pictures of my at school my first week. I am doing my first craft- hand print and my first outting in the stroller with my new friends.

My first for this month:
  • Tried peanurt butter (yum), ketchup (yuck), and ice cream (yum)
  • Holding head very well
  • Sleeping through the night completly
  • Started school
  • First vacation
  • First real laugh outloud

2 months old

 10.8 lbs and 22 3/4 inches long
I am now two months old and growing bigger every day! During my second month I got to experience my first holiday, Halloween. At church we had a pumpkin patch where I got my picture taken with my friend Chloe. I didn't like the scratchy hay that Mommy kept putting me on though. This year for Halloween I was a pumpkin. Mommy made my outfit and it was really cute. We didn't go anywhere but we did take some pictures.
This month I accomplished many things. Here is a list of all I did this month...
  •  Moved up to size 1 diapers
  • Slept 8 hours through the night (a few times)
  • Drinking 5 oz now
  • Stayed with my new baby sitter Edna
  • Grew into 0-3 month clothing
  • Started smiling all the time!!!
  • I got 3 shots at my 2 month appointment, too.
Here are some items I used this month that helped Mommy and Daddy out a lot. If you have a baby on the way... these may help you too!
Chicco carrier (Good for Daddy)

12 hours dryness is great for night time!

Graco infant car seat (this is my pattern)

Graco stroller
Graco play yard. This is what I sleep in while in my parents room. They didn't get a bassinet because I would out grow it to quickly. So, I will sleep in this until I move to my big crib in my room.

Jelly Bean Sling (Great for Mommy)

Pampers size 1 Swaddlers

1 month old

I have had a very busy first month! I made great friends at BayFront Baby Place where I was born. The nurses there were amazing at taking care of me and informing Mommy and Daddy what to do once home. :)  Then, Grandmama and Aunt Emmie came down to help. We had a lot of fun going out to lunch, shopping, church, and my new school- Keswick. Grandpa Scott, Josie (Grandma Marsha), Aunt Mo, Uncle Justin, and Aunt Allison also came by. Big brother Bentley also warmed up to me. He likes to lick my toes now! I love my new family!!! Throughout the next few weeks many people came to visit me from Keswick and from my church at 5th ABC. They brought Mommy and Daddy dinners because I was busy taking up all their spare time. So far I have 2 new friends my age... Chloe and Lilly. I bet we will grow up and be best friends forever!!! They both have brown hair just like me.

Some things I have accomplished for the first time this month are...
bath
smile
beach trip
eating 4 oz.
trying to hold my head up
overcoming a cold and thrush

Below are some things that I have really enjoyed so far. These things have also helped Mommy and Daddy take care of me better in my first month of life! If you are a new or expecting Mommy, you should really look into getting these items for your newborn too!
The Whole Boppy. This is great for tummy time!

Playtex Vent Aire. This is all I use!

Pampers Swaddlers have a yellow line that turns blue when wet.

Simply Saline Baby is for when I have a stuffy nose.

Fisher Price swing for $69.99 at Target is a life saver!

My pretty in pink tub with basket netting. Perfect for bubble baths!

    Heads up

Not a whole lot to write about this week. Laila had a good week. She is up to drinking 4oz now. She also is starting to hold her head up more now. She goes tomorrow to her one month appointment to get a shot so we will see how big she has gotten then too. Pray she will not be to fussy after her shot. Here are some cute pics from this week in the life of Laila.

Little Laila Bug ready for bed in her monkey jammies.
Bath time after a major blowout! lol Daddy filled the tub up so full for her bubble bath!

This is what we do to pass time once Daddy is gone to work. :)

    First beach trip

Laila had her very first encounter with the sand today. She is 3 weeks old and already getting started loving the Florida life! We had some friends from Georgia in town so we joined them for just a short time at St. Pete Beach to see how Laila liked it. Once we got there we went straight to the water. I put Laila's feet in the water a few times and she didn't even mind. Weird, because she doesn't like the bath yet. It was pretty hot out so we didn't stay long. However, we did get a few pics to share...

    First few weeks

In Laila's first few weeks at home she had many visitors. Between our church and my school, families provided dinner for us for 2 whole weeks! It was actually nice because not only did we recieve a nice home cooked meal during that time, but we also were able to have company and show Laila Bug off! It was a nice break for mommy too. It's a big change for me, being home all day again and not on the go with a classroom full of first graders.

Here are a few cute pictures we took through those first few weeks at home. They are not professional but still cute!

    Homecoming

Laila had to stay in the hospital for a couple of extra days due to her taking some antibiotics. Once it was time to come home, we were so ready to get her! Christopher (Daddy) had to work but thankfully, Grandmama and Aunt Emmie were in town. So, we loaded up the car and went to bring Laila Bug home.

    Laila has arrived

After a long awaited 9 months Laila has finally arrived! She was 7 lbs 9 oz, 20.5 inches long, dark blue eyes, and brown hair, born at 11:07pm on September 9, 2012. She has a little bit of mommy and daddy visible in her already. Her biggest feature so far.... those big plump CHEEKS!!!

Proud Mommy and Daddy right after Laila was born. :)
